Dr. Wassila Taha MD ; RPVI ( USA)
Dr Wassila TAHA is the General Secretary of EAVLA “ Egyptian African Venous Lymphatic Association “
Consultant of Vascular Medicine and Vascular Ultrasound; she has extensive training in phlebology, the diagnosis and treatment of varicose vein disease and related disorders.
She earned her medical degree from Cairo University receiving her MD ; then appointed as Assistant Researcher in the National Research Center of Egypt
She received her clinical training in Liège – Belgium at CHU du Sartilman for Vascular Ultrasound very early in her career in 1994 and 1995
Since that time ; Dr Wassila Taha has been engaged in the most important radiological centers in Egypt ; and had been renowned for her accuracy in diagnosis of the most challenging and complicated vascular cases in Egypt and the whole region
In 2009 ; she has been ARDMS certified ( American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonography ) and became a member of ARDMS
In 2011 ; Establishing The Duplex Center as well as Vein Clinics of Egypt ; a center of excellency specialized for vascular ultrasound and ultrasound guided modern vein therapy different modalities
Moreover; in same time she had joined the Diabetic Foot Center of Egypt ; where she acquired a new perspective dealing with the cases of diabetic foot lesions ; combined with mixed pathologies as venous ulcers and lymphatic disorders
Dr Taha held so many workshops in Egypt ; and outside Egypt : UAE ( in Cleveland – Abu Dhabi ) ; India Courses co- directed with Prof Jean François UHL and Prof Jean Patrick Benigni and conducted by Prof Ravul Jindal ( Fortis – Mohali ) in Chandigarh – India
In Egypt ; she conducted dozens of workshops introducing and spreading the concepts of modern vein therapy in diagnosis and different modern treatment modalities
In 2019 ; she established the Lymphatic Center (TLC) in Cairo ; and be member of the International Club of Compression ( ICC )
In 2019 ; she has been selected to be member of Educational Committee of UIP ( Union Internationale de Phlébologie ). And in April 2020 ; she has been selected as Guest of “ Honor Box “ of UIP Newsletter .
Moreover; she has represented Egypt in UIP Council Meetings 2018 in Melbourne and 2019 in Krakow; and in Krakow meeting ; she earned the Best submitted Abstract ; for a study with an innovative modality to treat venous leg ulcers
Dr Wassila Taha was a board member of important streamlined educational initiative (Lat-Af) joining Latin America & Africa ; called “ Saturday Night Vein Talks “
She is a lecturer in the Egyptian Vascular Fellowship since its initiation till currently ; co- author of scientific papers : about GSV Radiofrequency ablation; Recent guidelines & Consensus Venous Disease : Diagnosis and treatment of pelvic congestion syndrome an UIP consensus document
She has a huge contribution as Speaker and Chairperson in numerous National & International Vascular conferences
Community Services : in Rotary Egypt ; Dr Taha is a Rotarian ; she is Chair of Public Image & International Relations Committee from 2017 till current – and Nominated as President of her club Cairo Nile Valley for the year 2022-2023 – Rotary of Egypt – District 2451
Dr Taha possess and speaks fluently Arabic ; English and French
